If you are as impressed by these photos and videos as we are, you should come in to the Makery to experience the amazing Augmented Reality Sandbox in person. Thanks to the generous efforts from the NC State University Center for Applied Aquatic Ecology ( www.ncsu.edu/wq ) and funding from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund ( http://www.bwfund.org/ ), Kidzu has been able to feature their Augmented Reality Sandbox in the Makery. This sandbox may look ordinary on its own, but when it is paired with topography software developed by a National Science Foundation grant to UC Davis ( http://keckcaves.org/ ) it becomes so much more. Visitors are now able to learn how different land masses effect the run off of water by shifting the topography of the land. This hands on learning activity is a must see attraction at Kidzu. Stop by sooner rather than later because this sandbox will only be at Kidzu until the 17th!
