Our museum field trips for students aged 3 and up are 90 minutes and include include a 30-45 minute hands-on lesson in our program room. The lesson is followed by ample play time in The Nest (including crafting opportunities) and exploration of the Outdoor Learning Garden. All lessons are aligned with the NC Standard Course of Study and NC Foundations for Early Learning curriculum.
Pricing:
$200 for 90 minutes.
Includes admission for up to 25 people (children and adults)
Additional visitors (up to a maximum of 35): $6.00 each
The Nest has limited capacity. We cannot fit more than 35 people, including all adults and siblings.
Please note that younger siblings attending with parent chaperones must also be included in the admission prices (infants under 3 months are free).
Further details:
- Lessons are for students aged 3 and up.
- Museum field trips are only offered during the school year, from late August to early June.
- The Nest requires at least one month’s notice to book a field trip.
- The Nest requires 1 adult per every 5 children.
- EC students, neurodivergent students, or students with other disabilities may bring one free chaperone (educator or parent) each. They will still be included when determining maximum capacity.
- Groups may use our Outdoor Learning Garden for 30 minutes prior to and after their visit (they are also welcome to use the garden during their visit). There are no staff from The Nest in the garden; students must be supervised by adults from your group.
- The Nest does not have a gift shop or food for sale. There is a Starbucks in the Harris Teeter next door, and Alfredo’s Pizza across the parking lot from there. Food may only be eaten in The Nest entry lobby or outside.
