Augmented Reality Sandbox!

If you are as impressed by these photos and videos as we are, you should come in to the Makery to experience the amazing augmented reality sandbox in person. Thanks to the generous efforts from the NC State University Center for Applied Aquatic Ecology, Kidzu has been able to feature their augmented reality sandbox in the Makery. This sandbox may look ordinary on its own, but when it is paired with the topography software from the Center for Applied Aquatic Ecology it becomes so much more. Visitors are now able to learn how different land masses effect the run off of water by shifting the topography of the land. This hands on learning activity is a must see attraction at Kidzu. Stop by sooner rather than later because this sandbox will only be at Kidzu until the 17th!

What’s shocking everyone in the Makery?

Zap! Pop! Bang! Last week we had a spark-filled Mix It Up in the Makery as we learned about static electricity with MakNet. Our visitors who attended the Mix it Up can now say that they have felt the power of lightening in their hands. How amazing is that?! Everybody felt the spark as they learned about electricity, circulation, and electrons. For some of our experiments we had visitors make items float or move, without touching them! We had a morning of exciting demos and hands-on activities awaits! Don’t miss the next Mix it Up in the Makery and you can be apart of the unique learning experience too!
