Farewell to Scrapel Hill

Kidzu ended the week with a creative Reuse day in the Makery!  In celebration of the end of Scrapel Hill we made cd mobiles and created a tree using bottle caps! These amazing creations are now being displayed in the Makery. Come stop by to experience the creative use of recycled materials.

Earth Sculptures and Spiral Jetty

This week we had an amazing Makery Masterpiece event. We learned about Spiral Jetty and created Earth sculptures using sand, rocks, and other elements from nature. Some children made sculptures in our Makery sandbox while others designed sand art on paper. There were many unique creations made this week and they all turned out to be amazing! The Makery gets sporty!

There is no limit to what can be created in the Makery. This week we had two individuals make a soccer field. They used recycled cardboard and paper! It’s amazing to see what can be created out of recycled materials and the imagination of others. Come to the Makery and look through our scrap yard to use recycled materials and make your own invention!

Kidzu has been open for eight months and is very excited to celebrate all of the advancements that have been made. What Can You Make?

The Makery prides itself on recycling old household items into new and amazing inventions. In one of our STEAM’D UP events in the Makery children learned about city planning by building their own city! From this project Kidzuville was created. Many children have worked to build the city and have turned Kidzuville into a growing and changing landscape. Come to the Makery to find out what you can create!

To Market To Market

Come visit the Makery on Tuesday afternoons so you can participate in the Market to Market program! In this program we have a Kidzu chef take everyone to the farmers market to buy produce. After we have all the supplies, everyone comes back to Kidzu to cook a healthy meal with food from the Farmers Market! Every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 5!
