Today we had our first visitor finish the mini maker challenges! Emmett is now officially our first mini maker! Come stop by the Makery to get your mini maker card. You can also find more information about becoming a mini maker on the blogs homepage.
This morning in the Makery we got messy as we celebrated Jackson Pollock during Makery Masterpieces. We used squirt bottles to throw paint around, and we made some amazing creations! Come in to the Makery to see how the work of several different visitors created a masterpiece!
In the Makery this week we brought out the paint and everyone got very messy as we learned how to paint with unconventional objects. Come to the Makery and ask a Makery fellow when we will be painting next!
Today we brought out the K’NEX in the Makery and built some amazing creations. One Makery visitor made intricate spinning wheels that linked themselves together. What can you make with K’NEX? Come to the Makery and find out!
Over the next four months Kidzu will have it’s own kid scientist named Fran. Fran is an eighth grader and she is doing her own research project on beekeeping and the importance of bees. Check out the Makery blog and look for updates and posts from Fran during the next four months!
This week in the Makery we have been celebrating the holiday season by making decorations for Kidzu. One Makery visitor took a break from cutting out snowflakes and created her own heart face frame! If you want to join in on the holiday fun, come visit the Makery this week!
We brought out the Legos in the Makery this Sunday, and we were very excited about the inventions that were created. Legos may seem like simple blocks, but our visitors created amazing structures. One boy built three moving cars! Come to the Makery to use the Legos and ask our Makery fellows if they can help you with your inventions.
In the Makery we are experimenting with designing our own 3-D masterpieces using only golf tees, rubber bands, and styrofoam. Yesterday Kyle spelled out his name. Do you think you can create your name with the rubber bands too? Come to the Makery all this week to find out.
