The Mobile Museum is Kidzu’s newest satellite offering and is designed to deliver STEM education to students across North Carolina, especially in underserved areas. Designed in collaboration with researchers and STEM educators, and partnered with the NC Science Museum Network and NC Science Trail, the mobile museum is equipped with nine hands-on exhibits that are closely aligned with the North Carolina Academic Standards for science, math, and literacy.
Our Vision
Our goal is to advance STEM education in North Carolina. It has clearly been proven that getting children energized about STEM subjects before eighth grade is a major indicator of their likelihood to pursue a STEM-focused degree in college and go on to work in a STEM field after graduation.
Our Solution
We aim to serve students across the state with hands-on, STEM-based learning opportunities. Working with communities across the state, the mobile museum will reach students in remote areas of the state who rarely have the opportunity for innovative hands-on educational experiences. The mobile museum was designed to generate that interest and to give children a combination of curiosity and confidence in their ability to succeed in STEM subjects.
Benefits
• Multicultural & Multilingual Literacy Programs
• Adapted and accessible sensory-friendly programs
• In-School Field Trips to the 2,425 public schools in the state
• STEM Programs brought straight to underserved neighborhoods and community centers.

Our Mobile Museum is designed to meet NC Education Standards for students of many grades. Click on the links to see a comprehensive list for each grade.
The Mobile Museum relates to many noteworthy areas of learning. Click to browse by topic.
Financial Literacy
Through sponsorship by Coastal Credit Union, we are able to provide a thoughtful curriculum for financial literacy on the Mobile Museum! Children of all ages learn how to manage money through built-in activities that invite them to ‘save’, ‘spend’, and ‘share’. These skills help kick-start their money-managing and help them consider sustainable spending, budget management, and community investment.
Nature and Outdoor Learning
The ‘Race to Planet X’ is all about learning and applying the scientific theory to environments. Through several of the stations, children learn about the tools, methods, and lines of inquiry that help us evaluate the spaces where we live or may want to live.
